Cosmos is one of the few Transformers that can achieve escape velocity and enter planetary orbit unaided. He is known to spend his time in orbit observing and reporting on Decepticon locations and movements. He finds his job boring, and to break the monotony, he hovers over unsuspecting homes and cars, reveling in the UFO sightings reported. It was one such sighting that brought him to the attention of the Joe team.
As the world fell to the angry maws of the undead, Cosmos was off-world on a Top-Secret mission in deep space. When he finally returned, the Autobots and Decpitcons had been scattered and fallen off the communications radar. Now, he stays high above in low-Earth orbit, listening and waiting for the call from Optimus Prime.
