After leaving the Navy, Dusty opened up a pizza shop which is where he came to the attention of Matt Trakker. Seeing several Navy photos on the walls Trakker did some digging, Dusty had served in the same Navy unit as several current Joe members. So Trakker made him an offer, join the M.A.S.K. team as the marine and naval warfare specialist. He jumped at the chance, but kept his pizza parlor going.
