Greaybeard spent over two decades in the Army. He started out as an 11B Infantryman and worked his way up; Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces, Sapper, Sniper, SF Combat Diver, he even attended the legendary Jungle School before its closure. He attained the coveted President's Hundred tab due to his uncanny shooting abilities.
When the undead began to slaughter the masses Greybeard was enjoying retirement with his best friend and trusty companion a black German Shepard, Shadow. Being a prepper of the paranoid variety he gathered his Bug Out Bag, put Shadow's gear on the dog, and took to the hills.
