Abandoned and forgotten by Cobra, the Hydro-Viper could quite possibly be the most terrifying thing to spawn from the "outbreak". This is because, unlike "them", the hydro vipers are completely aware of what they are doing. Living in the murky depths that surround Cobra Island, the Hydro- Vipers are almost like an endangered species due to the fact that they dwell in radiated and infected waters, impossible to find out exactly how many there are. Hell, you're lucky if you can survive an encounter with just one of them. What makes them so terrifying is their battle tactics, and cannibilistic tendencies. Due to their gear, they can see clearly in dark muggy water, (It's said that their eyesight has also adapted to the dark water condions as well) so anyone who passes through thier "territory", whether it be on boat, or on foot is prey. Thier way of killing is to literally pull the victim under the water and eat. They carry bladed weapons to shear and slice their prey, as projectile weapons are worthless in their conditions. While many survivors think their best bet is to be safe at see from "them", it's clear that it's easier to fend off 100 of them than 1 hydro-viper.
